On 6 and 8 March, it will be the turn of The Italian Girl in Algiers, a masterpiece of Gioachino Rossini’s opera buffa, presented in a new production under the direction of Alessandro Cadario and the stage direction of Fabio Cherstich, returning to Modena after The Barber of Seville in 2022. A young director considered one of the most inventive and captivating of his generation, he has created productions for the Mariinsky Theatre in Saint Petersburg, the Teatro Massimo in Palermo, the Rome Opera House, the Opéra d’Avignon, the Opéra de Marseille, the Théâtre Maillon in Strasbourg, and the Teatro Argentina in Rome. The opera is presented by I Teatri di Reggio Emilia in co-production with the theatres of Piacenza, Modena, Ravenna, Bolzano, and the theatres of OperaLombardia.
