Experience an impressive concert programme in the unique atmosphere of Vienna's St. Stephen's Cathedral: from Bedřich Smetana's The Moldau and Paul Hindemith's Symphonic Metamorphosis to the world premiere of But the Sky Is Surely Open by young Australian composer Paul Nicolaou. Look forward to a lively evening with outstanding young musicians from the Sydney Youth Orchestra.
The Sydney Youth Orchestras (SYO) are among Australia's leading youth cultural organisations. Since their foundation in 1973, they have been promoting and inspiring young musicians at the highest level. Based in Sydney, SYO offers over 1,300 children and young people aged 6 to 25 a first-class musical education and a wide range of performance opportunities in 15 progressive ensembles, complemented by intensive holiday programmes, music camps and international tours.
We are delighted that the Sydney Youth Orchestra will be performing in Vienna as part of its European tour this year, and that we will have the opportunity to experience it in the unique acoustics of St. Stephen's Cathedral.
