“The Waltz King”: Flower Ball of the Vienna City Gardens at Vienna City Hall

On January 16, 2026, the most colorful ball of the season takes place!
On Friday, January 16, 2026, the most beautifully adorned ball of the season will be held at Vienna City Hall: the Flower Ball! With 100,000 blossoms, the Vienna City Gardens will create an extraordinary sea of flowers for their ball. 

The tradition of the Flower Ball began in the 1920s . In addition to the particularly stylish ambiance, guests can also look forward to the fresh scent of spring. The origins of the popular Vienna Flower Ball were a flower wreath held by Vienna's city gardeners in the Prater. After countless changes of location, the ball has now been held in the elegant ballrooms of Vienna City Hall for several years.

The main colors for the 2025 Flower Ball was a delicate  mix of pastel shades such as cream, light green, pink, violet, and yellow. This will be implemented with the following flowers:

Orchids (Orchidaceae)

Anthurium (Anthurium)

Roses (Rosa)

Lilies (Lilium)

Carnations (Dianthus)

Dress code

Women:  Floor-length  evening dress , ball gown
Men:  Tailcoat/tuxedo , dark suit

The music program offers different styles in several halls:

Ballroom: Vienna Ball Orchestra and Steubl Big Band

City Senate meeting room: Salsa Lounge - Salsa dancing under the professional guidance of the Chris dance school

Wappensaal: Edelbitter Live Band

Ballroom in the Volkshalle: WannaDance?

Friedrich-Schmidt-Halle: Disco with DJ Mike

Further program 

Admission from 8:00 PM

Opening  at 9:00 PM by the Rueff dance school

Midnight Quadrille: The "Bat Quadrille" takes place at midnight and at 2:00 a.m. in the ballroom.

Raffle: Every ticket wins.

Breakfast bag: The breakfast bag from Ströck makes it easier to say goodbye to the flower ball,

The ball ends at 05:00 o'clock .
