At the Teatro Goldoni, as part of the Maggio's three-year partnership with the Academia Montis Regalis - established following the great success of Il Ciro in 2025 and in keeping with the Maggio's commitment to presenting the rich and valuable Baroque repertoire - comes Il mondo upside down, i.e. The women who command by Baldassarre Galuppi. The project encompasses three operas by different composers, all sharing librettos by Carlo Goldoni. For this first title, the choice has fallen on this brilliant and sophisticated work, never before performed at the Maggio, which richly deserves to be rediscovered and restored to audiences in all its theatrical vitality. The premiere is scheduled for 30 January at 5 pm, with two further performances on 31 January at 3.30 pm and 2 February at 8 pm Conducting the Academia Montis Regalis Orchestra will be Chiara Cattani, while the production is directed by Paola Rota. The cast will be selected from among the finalists of the Piero Antonio Cesti International Singing Competition in Innsbruck, one of the world's most prestigious competitions dedicated to Baroque singing.
