Kit Armstrong and Beethoven’s Golden Year
Since Kit Armstrong stepped onto the world music stage over 20 years ago, his interpretive artistry has fascinated audiences almost as much as the fact that the pianist owns his own church. This church marked the beginning of Armstrong’s unique success story: St. Thérèse in the northern French town of Hirson became a socio-cultural center where he lives, performs concerts, and organizes interdisciplinary projects. The artist, who also studied physics, chemistry, and mathematics, performs with the world’s finest orchestras and has developed close artistic partnerships with leading instrumentalists and singers.
In the 2025/26 season, the “infinitely versatile” (Deutschlandfunk) keyboard virtuoso will come to Berlin with the orchestra Le Concert Olympique, bringing his new program Beethoven 1807. Together with Jan Caeyers, he will present works by the great composer – all originating from that golden year, 1807.
