THE LITTLE PRINCE – from the story by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry | Musical
Duration: approximately 1 hour and 25 minutes

THE LITTLE PRINCE is the story everyone knows but no one remembers, almost proving the truth of what its author said: adults never think about what is truly important, the things we are taught as children and forget once we grow up. It is up to the Little Prince, the eternal child, to refresh our memory. As the French writer Antoine de Saint-Exupéry himself believed, images help us not to forget, making real what, if only told, would not be believed. A very contemporary thought, extremely forward-looking at a time when photography was still in its infancy, almost predicting the importance it would begin to have in each of our lives a century later. Published in 1943, THE LITTLE PRINCE is the most translated book after the Bible and has sold over 200 million copies worldwide, so much so that “Le Monde” included it among the best books of the 20th century. A strongly trans-medial work, over the years it has been adapted and interpreted in countless forms, from comics to films, from animated series to ballet.

The show has now reached its fourth edition; from 2023 to today it has sold over 150,000 tickets across Italy, enchanting audiences of all ages. In 2026 the tour will arrive in Rome, Florence, Bologna, Bari, Legnano, and Lugano in a renewed and even more spectacular version. The performance of a timeless classic like The Little Prince remains balanced between prose, musical, circus arts, and installation, unfolding through the countless languages that storytelling, music, singing, set design, and, more generally, performance can offer. The show remains faithful to the style of the original work: Stefano Genovese decided not to leave the central role solely to words, but to entrust the story to imagination, translating it into an evocative experience that only theatre, by its very nature, can provide. A unique reinterpretation of a timeless classic, loved by adults and children for generations.

All adults were once children. But few of them remember it.
