Slavko Ninic & Wiener Tschuschenkapelle 'Christmas Special' (A)
The Wiener Tschuschenkapelle is a well-established name in the Austrian music scene, famous for lively concerts and musical originality.
For more than three decades, we have seen ourselves as ambassadors of cultures, with special focus on Austria and the Balkan countries. Our repertoire consists of traditional and self-composed songs from the Balkans, Mediterranean serenades, Turkish-Arabic-Oriental melodies, Greek rebetiko, Bosnian sevdalinka, and much more. We make excursions to Russia, touch on Viennese songs (after all, we are the Wiener Tschuschenkapelle), experiment with gypsy jazz, and even venture into classical music. Our music is originally arranged, well performed, and presented with humor and charm. With a performance by the Wiener Tschuschenkapelle, we guarantee your audience an entertaining and yet sophisticated evening without any background noise or superficial gimmicks. (Slavko Ninic)
“The black nights may swallow you, beloved, why have you left me?” goes the first song of the first album “die Schwarze.” That was 1990. Since then, much water has flowed into the Black Sea, and even more odd rhythms have been played. The repertoire initially included traditional music from the former Yugoslavia, Greece, and Turkey. Later, Viennese songs were added. Jazzy elements joined as well as classical ones. All of this has been presented by chief Tschusch Slavko Ninić since 1989 in the best Viennese conférencier tradition. (Press text)
