'Sir' Oliver Mally Group & Peter Schneider feat. Martin Gasselsberger '60th Birthday Party' (A/D)

40 years on the road musically. That can happen from time to time, but it is not an everyday occurrence. But an everyday life is one of those forms of existence that “Sir” Oliver Mally would probably consider for himself at the very last. “I'm on the road to nowhere” David Byrne once sang, as the antithesis to Oliver Mally, so to speak. The latter has been “on the road to everywhere” for decades and this - at least - in two ways. On the one hand, stylistically. Rooted in the original form of all popular contemporary music, the blues, the singer, guitarist and songwriter has explored almost all facets of the roots genre - and yet he is always discovering new ones. Delta blues, rock, garage, singer/songwriter, ballads, sometimes with a band, sometimes in a trio, in a duo and of course also solo. Secondly, Mally is an almost ideal traveling musician. No journey to a gig is too far to bring his music to the people. Down-to-earth, honest, authentic, with a proper twinkle in his eye - which is often directed at himself -, between vigorously gripping and cautiously intimate. His mercilessly catchy melodies are complemented by one of the most distinctive voices in the scene and a guitar that has long had its own recognizable value. 40 years on the road! Just enough for “Sir” Oliver Mally to warm up!

He will be joined on this special evening by his band, the ‘Sir’ Oliver Mally Group. With Peter Lenz on drums, flanked by his spacebrother Peter Schneider, with whom he released the internationally acclaimed “Almost There” in 2024, and exceptional pianist Martin Gasselsberger.

AND he is celebrating his 60th birthday in the wonderful “PORGY” on this very day! Nothing stands in the way of an appropriate blues birthday party. (Oliver Mally)
