Returning this season with a prestigious cast, one of the longest-running and most beloved shows in Italy, ready to thrill audiences of every generation once again. The story follows the adventures of Don Silvestro, the parish priest of a small mountain village, who one day receives an unexpected phone call: God Himself tasks him with building a new ark to face the imminent second great flood. In the role of Don Silvestro, Giovanni Scifoni says: “A dream come true! This is my first time participating in a major musical production. My father showed me AGGIUNGI UN POSTO A TAVOLA on TV when I was six, and I remember every gesture.” Lorella Cuccarini will play Consolazione, an iconic role: “Another dream fulfilled; AGGIUNGI UN POSTO A TAVOLA was the first musical comedy of my childhood. I watched it many times with different casts, knew all the songs by heart, and as a teenager imagined myself on stage as Clementina. Now I have the privilege of being part of it in the iconic role that has been played by musical comedy stars such as Bice Valori and Alida Chelli.”

Pietro Garinei and Sandro Giovannini, together with Iaia Fiastri, wrote the story inspired by the novel After Me the Deluge (Dopo di me il diluvio) by Forrest, entrusting the composition of the music to Armando Trovajoli, the great Roman jazz musician who, from the 1950s onwards, specialized in film scores. The overall cost of the production was very high, especially for the magnificent wooden sets installed on the revolving stage of the Teatro Sistina in Rome. The scenes depicting the construction of the ark and the flood were particularly impressive. The show received its title just a few days before its debut on December 8, 1974, after seventy days of rehearsals; it was acclaimed by the public and ran for a full six months, a whole season, which had never happened before.
