Attention, dear nightlife, the Monsters Of Liedermaching are embarking on a November tour to present the best hedonistic counterargument to the gloom of seasons and reality since the invention of the major chord with "Setzen, Sekt!", their latest live album.
In 12 musical gems, they sing about the minutiae of existence and prance Chaplinesquely through the surreality of everyday life. They hold their own against music-hating cats, dream up new careers as racing cowboys or dog-walking top spies, act as competent problem solvers of inter-gender discourse difficulties, and argumentatively ditch the CDU-tainted German work ethic. Life presents the points of friction, and the Monsters lubricate them with poetry. In their characteristic singer-songwriter style, somewhere between punk and pop appeal, they present themselves with delightful exuberance, approaching the madness of the world with a smile, because humor is their outlet, and the Monsters are a flourishing oasis of happiness.
Naturally, alongside their rich soundscapes from "Setzen, Sekt!" (Set, Sparkling Wine!), they will also play a whole mountain of beloved Monster anthems from their now 22-year band history. After all, nothing matures as enchantingly as good wine and timeless art.
And it shouldn't be too surprising if they present one or two previously unheard diamonds in the rough, because the creativity of the six-leaf clover is exuberant and the topics are piling up on their doorstep anyway.
Live, they ignite a bonfire of warmth, and their esteemed audience will sing along enthusiastically here and revel in moved silence there, their eyes shining. Or something like that.
One thing we can safely accept as a fact: The Monsters will celebrate magical pogo nights and transform the exquisite ballrooms of their November tour into emotional cocktail shakers of deep joy and the highest feelings of happiness.
