Twenty years have passed since Mario Biondi’s warm, deep voice captivated audiences abroad and in Italy with the single This Is What You Are, which later became one of his most iconic songs and a contemporary classic of international soul-jazz.
To celebrate this important milestone, a new version of the track This Is What You Are (20Th Anniversary) will be released on 12 September 2025 on all digital platforms (Beyond label / The Orchard distribution), newly recorded by major and renowned musicians from the international jazz scene such as Dennis Chambers (drums), John Patitucci (bass), Antonio Faraò (piano), Till Brönner (trumpet), Chase Baird (saxophone), along with two of his longtime musicians, Massimo Greco (additional keyboards) and Marco Fadda (percussion).
Live celebrations begin in 2026 with a tour organized and produced by Friends&Partners in the theatres of the most important Italian cities.

The Teatro Verdi Firenze is the largest traditional Italian-style theatre in Tuscany. Located in the historic Santa Croce district, it has been a cultural landmark of the city for more than a century and a half. Owned by the ORT Foundation, the Teatro Verdi is the permanent home of the Orchestra della Toscana, which carries out a vibrant artistic activity that keeps Florence’s rich musical spirit alive.
