Je Veux Vivre

n this magnificent bel canto concerto, Nicola Proksch unfolds the full splendor of colors of 19th-century French/Italian opera.
Famous arias from works by Offenbach, Bizet, Gounod, Massenet, Rossini, Auber and Donizetti tell of youthful joie de vivre, deep love, longing, courage and national pathos.
From the ethereal poetry of Olympia to Juliette's exuberant "Je veux vivre," a wide emotional arc unfolds. Rossini's dramatic soundscapes and Donizetti's brilliant virtuosity—crowned by the famous cabaletta "Salut à la France"—lend the evening brilliance and spirited bravura.
This concert is a tribute to bel canto, to sparkling coloratura, expressive lines, and to those operatic characters who continue to touch and inspire us today.
A concert for opera lovers as well as curious newcomers.
