On 26 August 1956, the Festival Strings Lucerne played their inaugural concert. Shortly before its 70th birthday, the ensemble makes a stop in Grafenegg with a fantastic programme: Elgar’s string serenade combines pastoral, elegiac idyll with playful wit, while Mozart’s «Jupiter» Symphony conceals melancholy traits behind its majestic mask. Mozart’s Concerto for Flute, Harp and Orchestra is one of his most intimate treasures, ideal for the exquisite duo from the ranks of the Vienna Philharmonics, principal flutist Karl-Heinz Schütz and principal harpist Anneleen Lenaerts.
