David Helbock and Julia Hofer

In his most recent project, Helbock joins forces with the versatile Viennese electric bassist and cellist Julia Hofer. Hofer first gained wide recognition in the pop world through tours with No Angels and numerous appearances on popular German television shows, including those hosted by Stefan Raab. Alongside a strong online presence, with her Thomann video productions reaching millions of bass enthusiasts on YouTube, she is now increasingly devoting herself to jazz, particularly through her collaboration with David Helbock.
In autumn 2025, the duo will release a new album on the internationally renowned ACT Music label. The recording presents a fascinating balance between intimate, dreamy original compositions and more rhythmically driven jazz pieces with groove, reflecting the unmistakable style of Helbock and Hofer. The project is further enriched by the participation of outstanding guest musicians, Lorenz Raab on trumpet, Veronika Harscsa on vocals and Mahan Mirarab on guitar.
Through the creative use of effects, percussive elements on the piano and the dynamic interplay between cello and electric bass, the duo delivers an extraordinary sonic experience, creating a musical journey full of emotion and continuous innovation.
