Libretto Henri Meilhac and Ludovic Halévy
A symbol of Mediterranean femininity and of the eternal conflict between freedom and destiny, Bizet’s Carmen will conclude the season on 10 and 12 April in a production curated by the Comunale of Modena, in co-production with the Emilia theatres of Piacenza and Ravenna, and with a new staging presented together with the OperaLombardia network. The musical direction will be entrusted to Audrey Saint-Gil, a conductor specializing in French opera, while the staging will be curated by Stefano Vizioli, an internationally renowned director. Among the principal performers are Maria Kataeva, Joseph Dahdah, Gianluca Failla, and Jaquelina Livieri.
