Pianist Alexandra Nomidou lives in Paris, where she has performed in numerous prestigious venues and festivals such as the Salle Gaveau, the Auditorium des Halles, and the Festival Estival de Paris. She has also performed internationally, notably in Switzerland, England, Belgium, Italy, Turkey, Brazil, Estonia, and the United States, as well as at the Megaron Mousikis in Athens. She has appeared as a soloist with renowned orchestras, including the Norwegian Chamber Orchestra, the Budapest Symphony Orchestra, and the National Orchestras of Thessaloniki and Athens, with which she premiered Petros Petridis's Second Piano Concerto. She also performs chamber music, primarily with the Hellenic Trio.
Having received first prizes in piano and chamber music at the Athens Conservatory, she continued her studies with masters Pierre Sancan and Yvonne Lefébure, attended masterclasses with Yevgeny Malinin, and participated in a seminar with Leon Fleisher at the prestigious Tanglewood Music Center in the United States.
She has recorded two albums for EMI featuring works by Schumann, Schubert, Brahms, and Ravel, which were warmly received by critics.
“Here is Schumann as he truly is… This pianist immediately captivates us with the astonishing maturity of her interpretation, the clarity of her technique, and a delicate touch worthy of Kempff.” (Diapason Magazine)
She has participated in numerous performances combining theater and music, both in Greece and France, which have been met with enthusiastic public acclaim.
Since 2005, she has created a concert series in Athens called "Around the Piano," which has provided a platform for dozens of young Greek and internationally renowned soloists and musicians to perform.
