In a letter to his daughter of February 14 and 16, 1785, Leopold Mozart wrote of a concert by Wolfgang: “The concert was unforgettable, the orchestra admirable … then there was a new and sublime piano concerto by Wolfgang…” He was referring to the piano concerto in D minor KV 466, the first of only two piano concertos by Mozart in a minor key, which the pianist Miho Fujimoto will perform on this evening with a string sextet in an arrangement by Carl Czerny. The evening will be presented and the music explained by Professor Johannes Kropfitsch.

Mozarthaus (Domgasse) Vienna

The distinctive baroque vaulted ceiling in the second basement of Mozarthaus Vienna has been converted with great architectural sensitivity that perfectly combines the old and the new into a remarkable multipurpose event venue. Thanks to its outstanding acoustics it is regularly used for chamber music concerts and CD recordings.

A variable stage area and conference technology with sound and lighting systems make it ideal for business events, presentations and lectures.

The event room also offers a unique setting for Christmas parties and private functions like weddings and birthdays. The room was renamed BÖSENDORFER HALL in MOZARTHAUS VIENNA in 2010 as part of a cooperation with Bösendorfer pianos. Mozarthaus Vienna and Bösendorfer together offer a varied concert programme.
